About this lecture
Round table with Ricardo Mbarkho, Multaka Ibn Rùchd 2012, RAMI 3.0, Shams, Tayyouneh, Beirut. Moderated by Claudine Dussollier.
RAMI 3.0 (International Encounters on Arts and Multimedia) took place in Beirut from October 22 to November 2, 2012.
On October 30 and 31, 2012, Shams organized in Beirut two round tables “under the sign of Averroes” on the theme “Culture of revolution, revolution of cultures”, on the sidelines of the Salon du livre francophone de Beyrouth. They were a prelude to the creation of the “Multaka Ibn Rochd”, a Lebanese edition of the Rencontres d’Averroès focused on the artistic and cultural issues of the Mediterranean world.
Ricardo Mbarkho, artist, researcher and teacher in Lebanon and member of the YASMIN network, spoke at the first round table, “Artists and the digital revolution”, on October 30, moderated by Claudine Dussollier, with Claire Duport, Marc Mercier (Les Instants Vidéo) and Georges Dorlian (University of Balamand). The second round table, on October 31, addressed the Arab Spring.
The discussion was published in 2014 in the proceedings Le monde arabe entre révolutions numérique et politique (Shams-Transverscité).
